Information Flows...

Wow, this is a real tear for me at the moment...

I'm finding that time to sit down and share a lot of the stuff I've been working on is few and far between - which is why I've gone back to simply writing about our adventures around the country. Wondering how I can change things so all my work can be a little more consolidated....

I've become increasingly interested in the way we are now creating information flows instead of static information pages.  In the past we created websites, and may've changed things once or twice a month... now we're constantly updating the digital footprint of our projects & companies with social media - are our web presences keeping pace with this? In general I'd say not, however I stumbled across Flavors.me the other day - information flow website builder is the best way I could describe it.  I like - and I want to use!

Anyway, just to create some more static content - here's a quick run down on a few of my projects on the go;

Enspiral - a collective of professionals working on a variety of public, private, community & social change projects.  Enspiral has many heads, but at the moment, it's just a great vehicle for resourcing people who want to make positive change in the world.  It's definitely a passion of mine at the moment.

Bucky Box - creating the software tools for a better food system : enterprise level software for your neighbourhood vege box, community supported agriculture (CSA) and soon food co-operatives too! I'm putting just over half of my energy into this start up at the moment, and loving it.  It's great to feel part of a team which has the ability to make significant change to re-localise the food system - my role is really to be the connector of community, customers, local food champions, and keep the comms rolling.  Lots of stuff coming through on the blog too - take a look!

Conservation Volunteers - connecting people to the environment.  I'm currently setting up the presence & programs here in the Wellington region.  Lots of exciting stuff happening - this is the organisation I was working with in Australia and on the west coast down in the South Island of NZ, so it's great to be back on board working with them again!

Collaboration Cafe - kickstarting community action over a cuppa. A nice little side project for me (just voluntary for now) where a group of friends and I are able to create a space once a month for people to come and talk about their community projects, social enterprise ideas, share, connect & collaborate.  Think 'the offline meeting once OpenIDEO has done it's thing'!  It's really enjoyable, and we've so far run two in Wellington, and have another one coming up soon for the Intersect Wellington face-to-face network.

There's lots of other things scheming and brewing, but at the moment this is where most of my energy lies.... well that's other than lots of love going Elinor's way, pleasure every time I get out and about with the camera, a smidgen of exercise, planting a spring garden, and delight any time we can squeeze in some socialising too...
